A six-book cover series with shelf-level impact
The Brief
A major sci-fi publisher needed a cohesive visual identity across a six-book series — each cover unique but unmistakably part of the same universe. The challenge: create collectible art that works individually and as a set, at thumbnail size and at poster scale.
The Approach
Our artist designed a unified color system and compositional framework, then painted each cover as a standalone piece within those constraints. A recurring horizon line and atmospheric haze tie the series together, while each cover's focal point and palette shift dramatically to reflect its story. The result is a series that rewards both individual examination and shelf-level impact.
The Result
The series became one of the publisher's best-performing cover runs of the year. Readers and collectors specifically cited the cover art as a reason for purchasing the physical editions. The covers were featured in Spectrum and the Society of Illustrators annual.

Collectors bought the entire set just for the covers. That never happens.
